Let’s make a glance at the new collection of bags from Lanvin Spring-Summer 2010.

First  it is worth noting the elegance and solemnity of Lanvin, which is present in every element of  this bags’ decoration. Designer adorned handbags with beads, sequins and luxurious inserts from the evening textile materials.
The surface of the bag looks great. For example, iridescent bright colors of snake leather make a completely new look at the design of this classic handbag.

The collection is presenting both bags of soft and hard forms. I would like to note flat Clutches, attracting the attention with their strict geometric shape in the style of origami.

Silk ribbons, having already become a part of corporate style of Lanvin, in the new season adorn the handles of neat Clutches, bulk bags for shopping and everyday patterns of textiles and exotic leather types. And handle itself  in certain models is covered with soft satin material; and large bows in this case are a perfect complement to the design of the handbags.

You can choose a more vivid handbag – with colorful exotic print, or a more relaxed, warm brown, but they both will be equally recognizable thanks to their unusual shape and decorations.

These Clutches are made of exotic python skin. The design of handbags is a combination of concave lines and cut corners and they are not only color but also have a form reminiscent of some exotic animal – an insect or mollusk or to some they look like alien-creatures.

In other words, they are not even clutches, but evening bags, because they are equipped with long handles of a thin thread. I think they will look more stylish, if you wear them just as a clutch rather than a bag.

For most models the Reptile leather is chosen as a material. However, the designers didn’t think it is luxurious enough, and they decorated the bags, made of black leather, with three-dimensional applications in the form of stylized flowers, or – in another version – with metal rivets of different sizes.

Buckle of the handbags is fairly massive, made of gold-tone metal. It not only gives expressiveness to the design of the handbags, but also speaks of the apparent Louis Vuitton origin.

It seems to me, the purses will look good, with long bohemian dresses, as well as with daring to “rock ‘n’ Roll” trouser sets.

Envelope -clutches of Miu Miu have a maximum size allowed to be called a clutch; the soft form allows wearing the clutch in a twisted form in hand. The handbag also has a decorative chain to carry it on a shoulder, which is sanitized by transparent crystals of various shapes and colors. By the way, the chain can be removed and worn as a necklace or tiered bracelet.

In addition to the chain, I still want to draw attention to the original zip in the form of a cross, inlaid with small crystals or laconically decorated with metal studs. In this and that version, it looks perfect.

Large clutches are made of soft Nappa leather. The color palette is introduced in pastel and classical black color emphasizing the natural color boom.

This whipped clutch has already more saturated decorative solution. Miuccia Prada added metal, rock-chick pins to elegant crystals.

And the most elegant models of clutches are made of colored brocade with a shiny coating. The edges of the handbag are trimmed with pins.

It seems to me that this bag is more than a clutch: firstly, it is really extensive, and secondly –it has a whole two handles, one of which is long and unfastened. The second handle is attached to the valve pocket, and I am curious if it carries functional load. The most interesting part of it is the perfect combination of something practical and something rather fancy.

On the catwalk models showed these bags, simply holding them in their hands, as clutches. Such a stylistic decision, I think, somewhat ameliorates this model: in the variant with a handle, thrown over the shoulder, the bag would have looked less stylish or maybe even undesirable.

Two of the presented bags are made of a noble “aged” skin with a soft golden brilliance. Yellow metal fittings would mostly suit to such material: a removable handle is adorned with metal chains and rings, metal parts are also present in the actual accent, in the long racemes adorning the corners of handbags.

But personally, I liked mostly the third model – bag-clutch of pleasant turquoise hue, decorated with ornamental seams, asymmetrical details and gold-plated fittings. By the way, this is an updated version of the bag, which we have seen in the autumn-winter collection 2009/10.
