The first thing one wants to stress when looking at the collection it is a textured surface of bags, reminiscent of woven baskets. This season we have already seen something like this: on such a surface finish, specializes also Bottega Veneta.

The palette of the collection is pleasant to the eye: it is dominated by soft, natural tones and natural shades, which further hint at the style of braided baskets. Carefully look at the handles of bags: between the interlocks of skin shapes of stones are recognizable, sewn inside the handle. In my opinion, it is an original idea.

All the introduced bags are not very large (otherwise, this design idea could appear somewhat brutal), and can be worn in the hand, as a clutch. Handles in this case serve rather as an attractive adornment.

It remains to add that Carolina Herrera proposes to complement these accessories exclusively with feminine dresses and sets. And I think this bag is able to give a kind of bohemian look to a simple strict skirt or a laconic dress, but certainly with bright and warm colors.

Miniature clutches of rectangular shape were the leaders on the ceremony among the accessories. Many stars chose them just to suit the color of their dresses.

For example Melissa George was in a white dress by Dolce and Gabbana and with white clutch by Ferragamo.

Some of Hollywood beauties played on the contrasts.
Taraji P. Henson, who was nominated for the “Oscar” for the first time, for the role in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” picked a red bag to the magnificent white dress by Roberto Cavalli.

And Robbin Roberts chose a combination of the peach color dress and soft plum clutch.

The young star from the “The Slumdog Millionaire” Fraid Pingo chose a tiny silvery bag by designer Judith Leiber, which was an addition to her ultrafashionable bright-blue costume by Galliano.

Clutches and jewelry

Quite often the evening clutches were chosen in the correlation with jewelry. Alicia Keys’ silvery clutch was in ideal combination with the big ring on her finger.

As to Virginia Madsen, she chose a golden clutch with effective gold earrings by Laurie Rodkin and an asymmetric red dress by Kevan Hall.
