Handmade Style from Fendi, Spring / Summer 2010
The new collection of designer handbags from Fendi is imbued with the spirit of nice retro – it seems that each of these bags was made long ago, by hand and specially for you. But we know that, despite their appearance, these bags are created using the most modern technologies.
Leather handbags of Fendi are disguised under linen – and, yet are made by hand. Stitch imitation of embroidery and coarse cloth – all this creates the effect of “Hand-Made” handbags. Original design decision continues to deceive the viewer: from afar it seems as if leather bag is placed in an embroidered “case” of textile.
The palette of bags is artless brown, beige, and the color of natural linen – and is designed to enhance the sense of “homemade”. But there are other bags in this collection and – they look more noble and aristocratic, because they resemble richly embroidered vintage accessories with beads. Here, you should not believe your eyes, again – because the beaded surface “represents” a brilliant fabric material.
Well, I think, the rustic style has all the chances to become one of the “hits” of the next spring – in contrast to the constructionist and futuristic design, to which we are accustomed to from the past seasons. And, there is something cozy and “domestic” in these bags.
