Futuristic Bag from Emilio Pucci

Mathew Williamson continues to develop Futuristic theme. In the new collection from Emilio Pucci Autumn-Winter 2009/2010, he presented a very unusual clutch of amorphous shape.
Mathew Williamson was inspired by general bean-pod when making this clutch. The accessory is called the same too – the Bean. But this clutch from different perspectives can get a new shape; one can see a heart or a violin case.
This designer had experimented with volumetric shapes earlier too, but this bag appeared to be very futuristic. The clutch is not like the other traditional Pucci bags.
The Bean clutch is made of plastic and covered with shiny enamel. The design of the bag is rather laconic, the shape and color are playing the key role here. The surface of the clutch shimmers with mirror shine. It has iron fastener and frames of silver shade.
The subdued indigo color can practically go with any autumn costume. It is a rather good option for a cocktail dress.
The weak side of this designer’ thought is its little functionality. First of all, the clutch is of a small size. When open the bag looks like an eyeglass case. Moreover the clutch does not have any handles; you will have to carry it in hands all day. A short chain-handle would have been apropos here.
This bag costs $1395.
